I am the husband of Tracy Ekhardt, a Pediatric Intensive Care Doctor at Blank Children's Hospital
in Des Moines, Iowa. Tracy and I were married June 21, 2003 in Fresno, CA. I am the father of Asher Wallace Ekhardt, who was born
October 20, 2004 in Dallas Texas, Indigo Megumi Ekhardt who was born August 17, 2005 in Fresno California and Liam Thomas Ekhardt,
who was born December 14, 2006 in Des Moines, Iowa.
I am a stay at home dad, caring for these three children. I am a Presbyterian Pastor who has set aside the pulpit for this season to invest in my children. I am a Doctor of Ministry student at Fuller Theological Seminary reading and writing about ministry in our emerging culture.
My last call was as the pastor of Glendale Presbyterian Church in Dallas Texas, a predominantly African American congregation. I was blessed by immersion in the African American community. I sang in the traditional and our contemporary gospel choir. I tried to be a part of the lives of the people in my congregation. They blessed me more than I blessed them.
Prior to serving there, I served three years as an Associate Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Fresno California. I was responsible for Youth, Young Adults, Young Families, and Contemporary Worship. I started serving there October 16, 2000.
Before serving there, I was serving in Tokyo Japan as an Associate Pastor, in an international, interdenominational English speaking church called Tokyo Union Church. I was responsible for our Christian Education, Young Adults ministry, Youth ministry, Small Groups ministry, Care Giving ministry, and Women's ministry. I served there from August 1998 to August 2000.
I was ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in July 1998. I received my Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in June 1998. I received my Bachelors in Psychology from California State University, Stanislaus in June 1992.
My father, Bill Sr., is also a Presbyterian Pastor. He has been serving Northminster Presbyterian Church in Bakersfield, California since January, 1983. My mother, Bonnie, is a Christian Psycho-therapist who specializes with children in abuse and custody evaluation and testimony. They live in the same home that I lived in when I graduated from Highland High school in 1988.
My sister Katie Falzone, her husband Chuck and her son Brett live in Chicago, where she works for the internet company, Legacy.com.
Before going to seminary, I worked for ten summers at Calvin Crest Conferences, an evangelistic ministry. There I had the privilege of seeing thousands of youth dedicate their lives to Christ, and thousands more grow in maturity in their faith. I also recorded and sold a CD, which you can now download from our site for free.
